Daily Routine
Phoenix House staff and management explain the house philosophy at assessment stage to the prospective young person. We understand this can be a very challenging and distressing time in any person’s life and we do not want to set anyone up to fail.
The house rules, responsibilities and expectations guidelines will be explained to the young person and Referrer, and a copy given for them to further understand and refer to. This needs to be a mutual agreement between Phoenix House and the young person for the experience to be as positive and meaningful as possible.
We structure the home to give a sense of routine throughout the day which every individual can adapt to their personal needs and daily requirements. As a young person grows in motivation and feels confident and empowered to manage daily tasks for themselves, the support from staff will be reduced until independence is reached.
Staff can support residents in structuring their day through:
- Wake up Calls
- Meal Planning
- Meal Preparation
- Planning Appointments
- Transportation Links
- Curfews
- Boundary Setting
- Going Out and Personal Safety
- Healthy Relationships
- Workshops
- Community Activities
- Day-to-day Money Management
- Building Confidence and Resilience
